Louanne has created LOSS101 to give you the basic class on Loss, using the Grief Recovery Method. We all have experienced grief and loss, but in our society we are not allowed to express it. We will not tell you how you feel. You already know. And we will not tell you We know how you feel. At best, we can remember how we felt when we experienced our loss. LOSS101 is for people who have experienced a significant emotional loss. Utilizing local resources that are available as well as LOSS101 Classes led by local certified Grief Recovery Specialists. This class is an action program for moving beyond death, divorce and other losses. We understand loss and grief is a very personal journey and we are honored to help you feel better.
Attendees should commit to the 8 weeks.
Weekly homework is assigned (mainly reading in the Grief Recovery Handbook)
No new comers are allowed after week 3.
Cost is $40 per week.
Purpose, guidelines, definition of grief and unresolved grief, introduction of all participants
Alleged stages of grief, myths around grief and other incorrect and incurred information
Unhelpful intellectual comments, approval seeking, who is responsible for your feelings
Short term energy relieving behaviors
Loss history graph (each participant makes a graph of all their losses)
Relationship graph (each participant makes a graph of one relationship they choose to work on)
Recovery Components (we put all entries of the relationship graph into recovery categories)
Completion letter (each participant writes a letter to complete the relationship they choose to work on, this allows them to express good memories, gratitude, make apologies and forgive for the not so good stuff. They can also express anything else that they wish would have been better, different or more) *NOTE* This letter is not shared with anyone outside of class.
